Cristiano Ronaldo then restored the lead and Mesut Ozil doubled it but Malaga were up to the challenge with Antunes clawing one back.
By half time Real Madrid were up by 2 goals with Benzema finding a first half stoppage time goal. In the second half, Luka Modric finished the away team with Madrid's 5th goal before Malaga went down to 9 men with Demichelis seeing a second yellow card.
Angel Di Maria put the icing on the cake with a goal in the latter stages of the game.
