Liverpool cruised to a big victory with the game all but over after just 17 minutes with Luis Suarez scoring twice in the first minutes of the game.
After the second half began Luis Suarez got his third and hat-trick with another goal before James Morrison scored from the spot for the away side to peg one back.
Daniel Sturridge capped of another superb match in this early season encounter with a goal of his own to help Liverpool back up to second on the table for now.
