Real Madrid dominated the first 15 minutes of play with chances coming with Ozil wasting the best opportunity. But as the game went on Dortmund slowly found their feet and began to win chances of their own through counter-attacks.

The second half started with Real Madrid holding the possession and Dortmund breaking on occasions on the counter-attack with Robert Lewandowski proving wastful.

Real Madrid finally got onto the score charts when Karim Benzema finished to give the hosts hope. Just minutes later Dortmund cracked again with Sergio Ramos finding the ceiling of the goals to make it two.

But with time running out, a very finish was on display and after over five minutes of extra time, Borussia Dortmund find themselves in the final with an all German match with Bayern Munich looming.
