It was Senad Lulic who gave Lazio the lead in the mid-way part of the second half when he was on the receiving end of a save from Lobont. He was able to tap it in without too much hassle.
Roma were almost able to equalise with a ball in from Totti finding its way to the cross-bar before it was kept out.
This result means Roma will miss out on European action all together for a second consecutive year whilst Lazio qualify for the Europa League once more.
