It was Jackson Martinez who opened the scoring to place Porto in the front seat following a set piece in which the Columbian headed smartly to find the back of the net.
Atletico Madrid however made their move in the second half with Diego Godin scoring first before Arda Turan scored late with a powerful shot from a tight angle.
