It was Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker who opened the scoring for Germany after Jerome Boateng flicked the ball onto the path of Mertesacker who prodded home from a couple of metres.
Another Arsenal man scored the second goal with new recruit Mesut Ozil scoring the second from the Spot before Thomas Muller added a third goal to give them a solid victory.
