Brazil were up early thanks to another Fred goal inside the first two minutes of the match with the forward finding the ball while on the ground and converted calmly past an outstretched Casillas.

Spain almost equalised but some handy work from David Luiz denied their side. But Brazil would instead double their advantage with Neymar striking a thunderous ball into the top right.

Fred found another goal right after the restart to put Spain away and things got worse for the World Cup champions with Sergio Ramos missing a penalty and then Gerard Pique was shown a red for a foul on Neymar just outside the box.
