Radamel Falcao was on the scorecard after just 4 minutes by being able to head home a Diego Godin ball from the result of  a free kick.

Atletico were the team on top but Real Madrid equalized through some luck with a Di Maria free-kick taking a deflection off Juan Fran.

In the second half Atletico pressed for their second goal but they only conceded another with Di Maria involved again. Karim Benzema played the Argentine through with a slick pass and the Di Maria slotted it home to give Real the lead.
