Transfer News: Lukas Podolski Leaving Arsenal With Juventus Interested

Lukas Podolski could be on his way out of the Emirates with Juventus and Atletico Madrid looming as contenders for the German international striker's signature.
Podolski, who moved to the Emirates from Cologne last summer in a £10.9 million deal, has netted 13 times for the Gunners this season but has recently fallen out of favour with manager Arsene Wenger.

Wenger believes his work-rate has dropped since he first arrived in London, and his last three league appearances have come from the bench.

Podolski is also set to miss the Champions League clash with his former club Bayern Munich with an ankle injury. Juventus are the front-runners for Podolski’s signature, and believe a £15 million could tempt Arsenal to part with the German striker.

The north London club would want a profit on what they paid for Podolski, while the Serie A giants have the resources to beat his current deal of £100,000 a week.

Podolski’s last goal for the club came in the first leg against Bayern last month, which saw Arsenal lose 3-1 at the Emirates, facing a difficult task to overcome two away goals in Wednesday’s clash.

Arsenal go into the Bayern match knowing they are English football’s last hope for representation in the quarter-finals after Manchester United’s elimination against Real Madrid last week.
